I have been working as a therapist for 16 years and began my training in 2004 in Cambridge, where I was awarded a Diploma in Counselling. I am also qualified to provide group therapy. I am an integrative counsellor which means that I use a number of methods to suit the needs of my work. My main disciplines are Psychodynamic Therapy, Individual (Adlerian) Therapy and some CBT techniques.
I have experience working in NHS Primary care, within charities and also in private practice, I sometimes run therapeutic groups.
My work is suitable for solution-focused brief therapy as well as long-term counselling. As an integrative practitioner I also draw on other training such as Group Therapy, Bereavement Training and Addiction Training.
If you have any questions about my professional experience or current practice, please make contact by phone or email. All calls and messages are confidential.
At the moment, I am working by telephone, Skype and FaceTime
The first step is to contact me. Tell me a little bit about the problem you are seeking help for and I will reply to you with a brief outline of the work I think we can work on together. If I do not think I can help you for any reason, I will do my best to refer you to someone who can. Together we can work on your problems and find ways to resolve them.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by the BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy. The BACP is a professional body set up to promote and monitor best practice within counselling and psychotherapy practices, and to look after the people who use these services. I also teach the Diploma in Counselling.
I am strongly committed to Continuing Professional Development and regularly attend conferences and training events. I work with individuals, from eighteen years and also with Adult therapy groups.
In 2020, as a direct response to the unfolding Covid-19 Pandemic, I set up the HelpHub (www.thehelphub.co.uk). This service began as a volunteer service in West Oxfordshire providing 20 minute online emotional support sessions for anyone over 18. Due to a high number of therapists throughout the UK wishing to volunteer their time and experience, I took the decision to make this a National service. It has over 800 volunteer therapists offering around 2,500 sessions per week.
